“The bliss of growth, the splendor of beauty, For yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, But today well spent makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well therefore to this day. Such is the salutation to the dawn.”
The above poem, Salutation to the Dawn, is often attributed to the Sanskrit dramatist and poet Kālidāsa.

Hello beloved ones! My name is Meline, and this is episode 7 of Harmonious, where we explore the synergy of Crystals and Herbs. Today we will explore Ginger and the crystal Tiger’s eye, and how these powerful healers can help us in the balancing of our Solar Plexus chakra.
But before we move on, I need to emphasize that everything you learn in this podcast is for educational purposes only. Please do not start or discontinue any treatment or medication based on what you learn in this podcast. It is essential that you consult a medical doctor before initiating or discontinuing or changing any medications or treatments for your physical, emotional, or mental health. And please make sure that you are not allergic to any of the herbs that you wish to experiment with.

Alright, let’s explore our Solar Plexus Chakra, which is called the Manipura chakra in Sanskrit. The Solar Plexus chakra is located in the upper abdomen, and it governs the liver, spleen, gallbladder, stomach, and intestines.
A balanced Solar Plexus chakra helps us breakdown, digest, and absorb food. The solar plexus chakra is the core of our personal power, and it governs our self-esteem, confidence, and self-reliance. It is where heat is generated to transform the physical food into energy needed for life.
Imbalances in the Solar plexus chakra may leave us doubting ourself, feeling like we are not good enough, therefore, negatively affecting our decision making. An unbalanced solar plexus chakra may cause a lack of self-respect which can lead to giving away our power and internalizing anger. may experience overreacting to small annoyances.
An overactive solar plexus chakra may lead to violent behavior and being intolerant of others. We may start blaming others for our own troubles instead of taking responsibility for our actions.

An underactive solar plexus may lead us to feel intimidated by others. We may experience a poor self-image and lack of confidence. We may feel worthless and wanting to withdraw and disconnect from the world.
Now it is time to explore one of the most healing of all herbal medicines, ginger, which is known by it scientific name, Zingiber officinalis.
The part of ginger plant used is the rhizome or the roots, either dried or fresh. Its folk name is African Ginger. Its energy is masculine, it is associated with the planet Mars, and its element is fire.

Ginger is best-known for its therapeutic application for nausea and vomiting such as motion sickness and morning sickness. Ginger helps digestion and improves blood circulation. Tea made with fresh or dried ginger can also be used as a gargle to soothe a sore throat, which indicates ginger’s anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. I make a strong tea with ginger, honey, and lemon whenever I catch a cold or flu and this drink helps shorten the duration of the sickness. Ginger being a warming food, helps to regulate and empower the solar plexus chakra.

Ginger increases the flow of saliva and is a stimulating tonic for the digestive system. Ginger reduces abdominal cramping, gas and nausea. By improving our blood circulation, ginger detoxifies the body from toxins. Ginger can be used topically for inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, bursitis and muscle sprains.
Now it is time to delve into the mesmerizing world of the crystals and learn a little bit about the Tiger’s Eye, the stone of confidence and personal power.
Tiger's Eye is a gemstone that is known for its unique combination of the energies of the earth and the Sun. It is believed to create a high vibrational state while keeping the person grounded.
When placed on the third eye, Tiger's Eye is said to stimulate and enhance one's psychic abilities and intuition. It is also known to balance the lower chakras, which can help to promote a sense of stability and grounding.

Additionally, Tiger's Eye is believed to stimulate the rise of kundalini energy, which is the spiritual energy that resides at the base of the spine. When this energy is awakened, it is said to lead to spiritual enlightenment and a heightened sense of awareness.
Tiger's Eye is known as a protective stone that has been used as a talisman against ill wishes. It is believed to help ward off negative energies and promote a sense of safety and security.
Tiger's Eye is associated with personal power and integrity. It helps individuals recognize their own inner resources and use them effectively to accomplish their goals. This stone promotes clarity of intention, helping people to focus their energy and efforts on what truly matters to them.

When placed on the solar plexus chakra, Tiger's Eye is particularly useful for when we feel uncommitted or scattered. It can help to stabilize and ground us, making it easier to manifest our will and accomplish our goals.
Psychologically, Tiger’s Eye helps us recognize our needs and differentiate between wishful thinking and practical reality. It can also help integrate the hemispheres of our brain and enhance practical perception, aiding in the collection of scattered information to make a coherent unit.
Tiger's Eye is also known to be helpful in resolving internal conflicts and dilemmas, particularly those brought about by pride and willfulness.
Tiger's Eye heal issues related to self-worth, self-criticism, and blocked creativity. It can aid in recognizing one's talents and abilities.
On an emotional level, Tiger's Eye is said to balance yin and yang energies and energize the emotional body. It can help alleviate depression and lift moods, providing a sense of emotional balance and stability.
So, what are some ways that we can incorporate the ginger, and the crystal Tiger’s eye into our daily life to cultivate their combined benefits for balancing our solar plexus chakra and for general wellness?
- I love using ginger particularly for its ability to soothe my motion sickness. I have always experienced motion sickness when traveling as a passenger in a car. One method I use is to cut a few thin slices of ginger and put them my drinking water bottle in the car. Sipping this water helps a lot with the motion sickness. To magnify the effects of this healing water, I sometimes drop a tiger’s eye crystal in the water bottle as well. Tiger’s eye is safe in water and can be used to make crystal water and crystal elixirs.
- Another method for helping with motion sickness or morning sickness is to cut a thin slice of a fresh ginger, and tape it on the inside of your wrist. You may emphasize the effects of this technique by wearing tigers eye jewelry, especially a tiger’s eye pendent or a bracelet of tiger’s eye beads on your right arm. The ginger taped on your wrist will slowly send it’s essence through your skin into your bloodstream and thus, it is a fast way of cultivating its positive effects on nausea and vomiting.

- One of my favorite ways of incorporating tiger’s eye into my life, especially when I’m feeling low and need a confidence boost, is to use prayer beads made with tiger’s eye. I love making a warm cup of ginger, honey, and lemon tea and reciting affirmations while I slide each bead between my fingers. Affirmations for balancing our solar plexus chakra are especially helpful in this case such as: “I feel calm, confident, and powerful. I am motivated, capable, and safe. I am kind to myself and others. I value myself. I am important and I know what is best for me. I am responsible for all decisions that make in my life. I am a powerful source of love and light.”

- Cooking with ginger is another great way to incorporate it into our daily life. It is a wonderful herb for digestion and creating warmth inside our body. I love using ginger in soups and stews. To make its effects even more powerful, it is a good idea to wear a tiger’s eye pendent. If you use a longer chain for your pendent, it can reach the area above your navel and that is where the solar plexus chakra resides. This way, we can balance the solar plexus chakra from inside with our food, and from the outside with the tiger’s eye.
