Harmonious Podcast Episode 2: Rosemary & Fluorite

"The oaks and the Pines, and their brethren of the wood, have seen so many Suns rise and set, so many seasons come and go, and so many generations pass into silence, that we may well wonder what ‘the story of the trees’ would be to us if they had tongues to tell it, or we ears fine enough to understand."

Hello dearest listeners! This is Meline and you're listening to harmonious, where we explore the synergy of crystals and herbs.

I want to thank everyone for their supportive and loving messages and encouraging me for continuing my podcast.

Welcome to episode two of harmonious and today I want to talk to you about the synergy of the fluorite crystal and the Rosemary herb.

Now, before we begin I want to emphasize that everything you learn in this podcast is for educational purposes only. Please do not start or discontinue any treatment or medication based on what you learn in this podcast. It is essential that you consult a medical doctor before initiating or discontinuing or changing any medications or treatments for your physical, emotional, or mental health. And, please make sure that you are not allergic to any of the herbs that you wish to contact with.

Let's begin today's episode by discussing the herb Rosemary, which holds a special place in my heart. I currently have a large Rosemary bush in my garden, which is not only a stunning sight to behold but also has a delightful scent that fills the air whenever I pass by it. During springtime, the bush is adorned with beautiful purple blooms that attract so many bees.

Rosemary is a popular seasoning in cooking and a potent herb for healing in herbal medicine. Recently, the scientific name of Rosemary has changed from Rosmarinus officinalis to Salvia rosmarinus, due to new scientific evidence that reveals a closer relationship between Rosemary and sage. Nonetheless, as William Shakespeare famously said, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." I would also like to share with you some of the folklore surrounding Rosemary, which was known by various names such as compass weed, dew of the sea, elf leaf, polar plant, and others.

In terms of energy, Rosemary is considered masculine and associated with the sun. Its element is fire and in folklore, Rosemary has been burnt for cleansing and purifying a space. It was placed under a pillow for better sleep and warding off nightmares. In botanical medicine, Rosemary is known for its ability to stimulate circulation and engage the sympathetic nervous system. It can be helpful in reducing sluggishness, adrenal fatigue, and preventing depressive tendencies of our mind, body, and spirit. Rosemary has both stimulating and relaxing effects on the nervous system, making it a great herb to aid in studying by promoting relaxation while maintaining alertness.

Let's delve into the crystal fluorite now, which happens to be one of my top five favorite crystals Its stunning blend of green, blue, purple, and white hues and how they layer upon one another make it an exceptionally attractive stone to look at and to hold.

From a spiritual perspective, fluorite has grounding properties and integrates energies. It is associated with progress on multiple levels and brings structure to daily life, making it a powerful tool to overcome chaos. Fluorite is also believed to dissolve fixed patterns of behavior, allowing suppressed feelings to surface and be resolved.

Just like Rosemary, its plant counterpart, fluorite is an excellent aid for learning as it facilitates information organization, processing, and absorption, and enhances concentration.

On an emotional level, fluorite has a stabilizing effect and teaches us the importance of balance in relationships.

So, what are some of the ways that we can benefit from the combined benefits of Rosemary and Fluorite?

· One of my favorite ways to combine the energies of the Rosemary herb and the Fluorite crystal is to use them both while studying. I place my Fluorite crystal on my desk, and I diffuse rosemary essential oil in the room where I study. The Fluorite crystal enhances our concentration and memory, while the rosemary essential oil scent helps us relax and create long lasting memories of what we study. If you prefer not to diffuse the essential oil, you may drink rosemary tea sweetened with some honey while you study.

· One of my favorite ways to use the crystal fluorite and Rosemary is to create a crystal grid big enough for myself to sit in the middle. You can make this grid with a minimum of 4 pieces of the fluorite stone and creating a rectangular or square shape. Sit in the middle of this square grid, while holding a small and fresh rosemary branch in your hands. Smell the rosemary and stay inside your crystal grid as long as you need. This works like a reset button for our emotional and energetic aura. It cleanses and recharges our chakras and organizes our mind.

· Fluorite crystal can get wet, but this is a mineral you don’t want to soak for any more than a few seconds. Fluorite has a rating of 4 on the Mohs Hardness scale. This scale represents the scratch resistance and overall durability of a crystal. Generally, anything under a 6 or 7 is considered “soft.” Therefore, Fluorite is not safe to put in drinking water. However, this does not mean that we can’t utilize it’s benefits in water. Whenever a crystal is not considered water safe, you can place that crystal outside of the water near the water container. The energy of the crystal vibrates all around it in the environment and will send its effects through the glass and into the water. Leave the crystal outside of your water container overnight, and in the morning make rosemary tea with that water and enjoy!

· Another way is to meditate holding a fluorite palm stone and diffuse rosemary essential oil in your room to help you organize your thoughts and clear your mind. Remember, the purpose of meditation isn’t having an empty or blank state of mind, but to let your thoughts pass without holding onto them. We should become an observer of our thoughts and not an absorber.
